We understand that nobody knows your child better than you do and to ensure we support your child fully we gather as much information as possible so we start building those relationships from day one.
We use various methods to gather this information including, conversations, one page profiles and a baseline document.
We will try to have short conversations with parents daily and we also use a program called Tapestry to help us record, track and celebrate children’s progress. Text, images and videos are uploaded weekly, via tablets, showing staff interacting with children in structured activities or free play. Tapestry is a secure system with each parent receiving their own login. You can access your child's record online, at any time.
We invite parents and carers to also contribute to their child’s Tapestry, by logging their own observations or photos/memories that your child wants to share with their key worker and other children at Highfield. This also helps to reinforce the bond between the home and Highfield Pre-School, as we share information and insights.
